Your new Management Committee has a number of new members to bring fresh ideas to the Club. We are excited at the prospects and new opportunities that the 2014 season will bring to Tingara. We have a large number of General Committee Members this year to assist in various aspects of the Committee’s workload. We have also created a new role of Middle Grading Co-ordinator to assist in the overall grading processes.
At the first meeting of the new Management Committee held immediately after the AGM, the Committee affirmed the Club’s mission statement, which is as follows:
At Tingara Netball Club, we strive to achieve success with integrity. We seek to encourage a love of the game of netball from a young age and maintain that passion to senior competition. We strive to provide the best opportunity for each player, and team, to maximise their playing potential and balance this with our core values of sportsmanship, respect, commitment and team and club spirit.
Tingara will continue with the on-line registration process for next season. It is anticipated that an email will be sent to all members in the next few weeks to advise when the Registration Pack is available on the Club website.
Please note:
• Due to increasing pressure on Club playing numbers, the Club’s on-line registration process for the 2014 season will be a 2-stage process to give initial priority to existing members and those on the Club’s waiting list.

• From 1 to 21 January 2014, on-line registration will be open for current members and also those on the official Tingara waiting list.
• From 22 January until close of Tingara’s on-line registration period on 11 February 2014, registration will be open to the general public. However, it should be noted that registration at this point does not guarantee placement in a Tingara team.
• The above dates may change slightly – full details of the on-line registration process will be available in the Registration Pack, which will be available on the Club website in the next few weeks.
• The Registration Pack will also advise of the process for ordering new Club uniforms. It is anticipated that a uniform fitting day will be held in February/March 2014.
• Again, due to increasing pressure on Club playing numbers, the weekly training schedule for 2014 is under review, so please be aware that the training times may change from 2013.
The international netball game against Temasek Polytechnic has now been arranged to start at 6pm on Sunday 22 December 2013 on the main court at Gibson Park. The Tingara 21 and Under team has been selected and is eagerly preparing for the game. Following the game, there will be an informal BBQ and presentation for players and officials. PLEASE COME DOWN AND SUPPORT THE GAME! Depending on numbers, we may even be able to offer you a sausage sizzle… We are hoping for a balmy summer’s evening on what should be a great twilight game against the visiting Singaporean team.
A reminder that the 2014 season playing dates are as follows:
• 3 May -1st game
• 31 May – bye
• 12 and 19 July – bye
• 6 Sep – semi finals
• 13 Sep – preliminary finals
• 20 Sep – grand finals

The Committee’s focus for 2014 will again be to compete more successfully on the courts. To this end, we will be pursuing:

• the early nomination of coaches and managers for our Club teams
• greater participation by our 2014 coaches and umpires at coaching/umpiring courses and clinics. We have lots of exciting courses and clinics lined up for 2014!

With on-court performance being a major focus, your Committee is mindful of a key component of the Club mission statement – that is, to strive to achieve success with integrity. The right balance between successful competition and fun is the Committee’s clear aim.

Please note that Tingara is again looking for Club sponsors for 2014. If there are any family businesses within the Tingara community that may wish to pursue a sponsorship deal, please contact a member of the Management Committee. The on-line registration facility will again contain an opportunity to become a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze sponsor for 2014.
We remind all members of the Club Facebook page to discuss matches, Club functions and any other netball related matters and news. The Club’s website and Facebook page, together with our new Team App facility, provide excellent forums for accessing information, sharing photos and communicating with members.

Again, best wishes for Christmas and the New Year – and please stay safe.

GO TINNIES IN 2014!

Kindest regards
Tingara Netball Club
